These two are such a sweet couple and Kristen has the most beautiful smile I’ve seen! She smiled the whole day! ALL WEEK LONG the forecast for the wedding day said RAIN, RAIN, RAIN! It couldn’t have been more sure, but thankfully, the day arrived with barely a drizzle! Kristen’s smile never let up and we almost made it through the whole day before a monsoon arrived right as the ceremony was to begin. Kristen and Jacob’s wedding guests patiently waited under cover before Oak Bowery’s wonderful employees dried off the chairs and we began. A little rain didn’t let this couple down, and I think it even helped spruce up the color in some of our photos!
Kristen’s hair and makeup artist did a fabulous job on the ladies!
One thing I love about Oak Bowery is their beautiful decor! So much thought and time went into this unique venue.
The handkerchief on the right has been in Kristen’s family for close to 100 years! The heirloom is made out of pineapple and was a gorgeous touch to the day.
I just loved the fun contrast between Kristen’s modern Converse shoes and the vintage decor in the home. Kristen had a lovely team of ladies to help her get the finishing touches perfect!
Kristen requested the balcony for her first look with her dad… it couldn’t have been a better spot! I could tell he is such a kind, loving father, and he melted when he saw his little girl dressed up for her wedding day!
Kristen chose one close childhood friend to be her bridesmaid! I love photographing relationships that have stood the test of time.
Stanley Sistrunk of The Flower Store did a marvelous job with all the flowers!
Jacob also chose a close childhood friend, and they were quite the pair to photograph!
Kristen and Jacob chose not to see each other before the ceremony, but they got to share a sweet moment together beforehand.
I happened to catch a quiet moment of prayer before the ceremony between Kristen and her close friend Becky, who owns Red Fox Farm, where we took Kristen and Jacob’s engagement photos.
JThe rain finally held off and Kristen and her daddy walked down the aisle to see her groom!
Jacob was so glad to finally see his beautiful bride after the long day.Mr. and Mrs. Hornsby!
These two were so happy to be together! I loved photographing them after the ceremony.
Jacob works at Coca-Cola as a distributor, which is actually how they met, so I thought the Coca-Cola cake was a great touch to the day! Sweet Malisa‘s did a wonderful job, as always.
After finishing an amazing meal catered by Martha Hicks of Southern Hospitality, these guests sure knew how to have fun! They made the most of the dance floor and JAMM Entertainment Services kept the party going. I’m so glad Kristen and Jacob chose to have a classic car from Memories in Motion Classics. Every bride should have a gorgeous car like this to leave her wedding in!
And… they’re off! Anita Kanellis did a great job planning and coordinating the wedding day. Congratulations Kristen and Jacob! You had a beautiful wedding day and handled the rain with such grace! Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph this special day. It was an honor to be there, and I wish you both the best!
