Jordan-Hare Stadium Wedding – Auburn AL – Randy & Valerie

If there was ever a couple that should have the honor of being the first couple to get married in Jordan-Hare Stadium*, Randy and Valerie are IT!  These two are the kindest, easiest to get to know people ever! On top of that, they’re so much fun! If you’re an Auburn fan, or just a fan of a good love story, then Randy & Valerie’s wedding is for you!

*UPDATE: unable to verify this rumor going around, so let’s just hope it’s true :)

You see, Randy and Valerie met when they were both AU students in the 1980s. He first saw her between classes in Haley Center, and he was immediately smitten. He worked his magic through mutual friends and eventually, they went on a date! She didn’t know he was a football player, or she says she wouldn’t have given him a chance! Unfortunately, circumstances parted them for many years, until a chance Facebook message he sent her last year brought them back together again. Well, the rest is history, and the AU Lettermen Lounge was the perfect place for these two Auburn fans to tie the knot!

The lovely Auburn Hotel & Conference Center was the perfect place to get ready! Beautiful and convenient. The gown Valerie chose was absolutely perfect for her!

Valerie always wished Randy good luck at the player’s gate before he entered the stadium for a game. The stadium has been remodeled since then, but this was the area they always met at! Randy’s reaction was priceless! He was so excited to see his beautiful bride.

Randy still had a football he had written a note to Valerie on… “Valerie – You are my every dream come true! You are my favorite and most loyal fan! I love you more than anything in this whole world!!! Always and forever yours – Randy #16 P.K. War Eagle!” Randy & Valerie wanted to revisit Willie Little Hall, where the last time they were together was not as happy as this one. Fortunately, this visit was much better!

We took a quick walk near the Haley Center, also full of special memories for these two. Jess at Frou Frou did a wonderful job with the florals for the wedding!Valerie’s beautiful daughters looked lovely, as well!Thank you to the Auburn Army ROTC for their wonderful work for this wedding! Randy and Valerie shared beautiful thoughts with each other as they said their vows. The new Mr. and Mrs. exited the ceremony through the Arch of Sabers!
There were plenty of orange and blue touches throughout the reception – Frou Frou did a great job! Some of my favorite parts were the centerpieces, which featured a vintage Auburn photo and a “Glom”, Auburn’s yearbook.Mary Louise Kennedy provided these gorgeous “War Eagle” scripts – they were perfectly classy, yet matched the college theme so well!Yet again, Cakes by Tania created a beautiful cake! Tania hand-piped that U.S. Army emblem onto the cake! Also, what an awesome backdrop for your wedding cake – the Kick Six!Also as a part of the reception was a delicious meal created by Billy Lee of Terra Cotta Catering. It was a unique combination of dishes that kept the guests coming back for more!Derek Sellers did a great job providing music for the reception. He is very talented and reminds me of Dave Barnes (my absolute favorite artist!). Randy’s hidden talent is singing, and so he serenaded his beautiful new bride during the reception!

This beautiful wedding was put together by the hard work of Katy Blackburn of Make It Perfect Events. Her vision for Randy & Valerie’s wedding day came through perfectly, and the day went seamlessly. I highly recommend contacting Katy if you’re planning a wedding and learning how she can help your day be stress-free and beautiful! Anna Thompson of Auburn University Athletics Special Events did a great job coordinating for the venue, as well.

I’m so thankful to have met Randy and Valerie, and I’m so glad they found each other again! Thank you both for asking me to be your wedding photographer. You have a beautiful story, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
