Matthew and Melissa met while they were students at Auburn, and despite living out of state, knew it was the place for them to get married. I first met them last year when I photographed Matthew’s sweet surprise proposal to Melissa in front of Samford Hall. It has been so great getting to know them over the past year – they’re both such kind people! It was beautiful to hear their friends and family speak about them at their reception. They’re very loved, and they show love to everyone around them – they’re a perfect fit!
Melissa and her bridesmaids started off by having their makeup done by Morgan Musick at the Marriott at Grand National in one of their beautiful suites.
After the ladies were ready, we traveled over to the Heritage House Bed and Breakfast in Opelika. This beautiful historic home was the perfect venue for Matthew and Melissa’s intimate wedding.
The rooms are all beautiful decorated down to the simplest details.
Melissa’s ladies looked lovely as they helped her with her finishing touches!
As usual, Tamera Mills with The Caines did an amazing job with the floral work!
After Melissa was ready, we found a quiet, sweet spot outside the home for their first look.
Katy Blackburn and her staff with Make It Perfect Events made the day go seamlessly! The ceremony was beautiful.
The reception began with their first dances on the side yard of the home, followed by a delicious meal catered by Christine’s Unlimited.
Melissa created this amazing cake table out of thrift store finds! It all flows together so well.
Matthew and Melissa now live near the famous Georgetown Cupcake. These cupcakes safely made the trip down to Alabama!
Matthew and Melissa thoroughly enjoyed their wedding cake from Edgar’s Bakery!
Matthew and Melissa enjoyed their reception with their guests before wrapping up with the bouquet and garter tosses.
The front of the Heritage House was a beautiful setting for Matthew and Melissa’s sparkler send-off to their honeymoon!
Congratulations, Matthew and Melissa! You had such a beautiful wedding day; thank you for asking me to be a part of it! I wish you the best as you begin marriage together.
