Thank you for returning to check out part two of my focus on what to wear for your engagement photos! Be sure to visit Part 1 here. If you’re struggling at home or the store with what you’d like to wear, please don’t hesitate to give me a call. However, I do hope this advice can help you narrow down what you are considering.
Accessories: Jewelry
Another finishing touch to consider is your accessories. Find jewelry (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.) that goes well with your outfit. Search through what you have for things you might not have considered, and you can always check out local thrift stores (especially Fringe!) for a new piece to add.
Hannah’s bold necklace here was a great fit for her outfit.
Accessories: Shoes
Your shoe choice is also important. If we’re doing a lot of walking, I always encourage brides to bring shoes that are comfortable or an extra pair to wear between locations. Whether you choose boots, heels, or Toms, make sure they’re shoes you love!
While Patricia’s shoes aren’t the focus of this photo, they certainly add a lot!
Accessories: Nails and Makeup
One final aspect of accessories that I’d like to mention is your nails and makeup. Although your nails aren’t exactly the feature of the session, they’re a great touch that will add to an overall great photo. As far as makeup, I highly recommend setting an appointment with a professional makeup artist. She will know how to ensure that your makeup is perfect for photos, and it’s a great opportunity to be pampered!
If your ring is the focus of the picture, you don’t want your nails to distract! I love the color Sara chose.
Consider wearing two outfits
My last bit of advice is to consider choosing two outfits for the session. This gives you a bit of variety in your photos, and you can match your clothes to the style you’re hoping to have for that part of the session. Below is a great example of this.
I hope these ideas have been helpful for you! If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me. You can always snap a photo and ask me what I think of your advice, but I’m guessing you’ll have made a great choice already. I look forward to our session!
