On a rainy Saturday in October, Heath and Emily said their vows in a small, intimate ceremony in the Children’s Chapel at Children’s Harbor on Lake Martin in Alabama. Lake Martin was chosen as their venue, as it held special memories with her family from Emily’s childhood.
Emily got ready beforehand in the Hank Williams Cabin next to the chapel. It had plenty of space and was very convenient! Christian Burchfield did an amazing job with her hair and makeup.
Emily’s bridal details were so beautiful on the guest bed in the cabin.
Emily’s sister was so excited to see her as a bride, and was happy to pose for photos, as well!
The heart tucked away in Emily’s dress was made from one of her late father’s ties. Emily’s wedding had so many subtle, beautiful tributes to him.
Fortunately, the wedding was planned to be indoors, so we took advantage of the beautiful light inside the chapel to keep Heath and Emily out of the rain before the ceremony began.
Emily’s uncle walked her down the aisle, and the small guest list made the ceremony perfectly intimate.
After the ceremony, the rain had fortunately let up some, so we were able to venture out with an umbrella!
Thank you to Heath and Emily for braving the elements for some of my favorite wedding portraits I’ve captured! You are a beautiful couple and I wish you a lifetime of joy and love.
